What? The first HGMC event: a field trip to Toronto, to attend Constant Craving, a cabaret concert by Forte–The Toronto Men’s Chorus, followed by dinner.
Why? To be inspired by the beautiful sounds of this talented gay men’s chorus, to meet other men who are interested in the Hamilton Gay Men’s Chorus project, and to have some fun!
Where? The 519 Church Street Community Centre and Zelda’s Restaurant (both in Toronto).
When? Saturday 31 March 2012, starting at 3:30 pm.
Who? We are inviting any men (and their friends and families) who are interested in becoming involved with the Hamilton Gay Men’s Chorus to attend.
- Please complete the HGMC Field Trip Sign-Up Form no later than Thursday 29 March 2012, so that we will know how many to expect for the concert and/or dinner. This will enable us to arrange group seating at the concert venue and at the restaurant. Also, your responses will enable us to make carpooling arrangements; if you require a ride, your contact information will be given to a driver near you, who will make arrangements with you directly. (Note: Each carpool group should arrange how they wish to share the cost of fuel and parking.)
- If you indicated on the sign-up form that you would purchase your tickets online, you may do so by visiting the Forte website at fortechorus.com. Please be sure to purchase your tickets for the matinee performance (3:30 pm). (Note: A small service charge applies to online ticket purchases.) If you indicated on the sign-up form that you would purchase your tickets at the door, we will arrange for the box office to hold your tickets with the others for our group. When buying at the door, please mention that you are part of the Hamilton Gay Men’s Chorus group; you may be asked to provide your name to track HGMC tickets sold.
- Please try to arrive at The 519 Church Street Community Centre at least 30 minutes before the performance so that you can find parking, obtain your ticket(s), and find your seat(s) with the rest of the HGMC group. The cabaret will take place in the Grand Ballroom. Please ask one of the Forte volunteers if you need help finding our designated seating area.
- After the performance, we will gather at Zelda’s Restaurant at 692 Yonge Street for dinner. See zeldas.ca* for the menu and information. (This venue is still to be confirmed as of the date of this announcement.)
If you have any questions or concerns about the field trip, please contact the HGMC planning team (Lorne G and Michael W) by using our feedback_form.
