Meet our new Music Director

This spring the HGMC received applications for the position of Music Director, and the successful candidate was John-Luke Addison.  Here’s his bio:

J-L Addison headshot 1Emerging Canadian pianist, organist, composer and conductor John-Luke Addison is a graduate of York University’s undergraduate and graduate programs in music. He has conducted and played for several theatrical productions within Canada, including with Drayton Entertainment, Theatre Aquarius, Meadowvale Music Theatre, City Centre Musical Productions and Garden City Productions. He is organist and choirmaster at Vineland United Church and has published compositions performed by Pax Christi Chorale and True North Brass. John-Luke’s mission is to create music that evokes deep emotional responses and engages the listener into greater senses of existence. His M.A. thesis project was on the development of oratorio through 18th century Britain, along with composing an original oratorio, David and Goliath. His career goals include attaining a doctoral degree and becoming a music director in New York for Broadway theatrical productions.
